Acts 20:35
Qué significa este versículo
In his farewell to the leaders of the Ephesian church, Paul urges them to work hard for the sake of the weak, and closes with a saying of Jesus: there is more blessing in giving than in receiving.
Paul is traveling to Jerusalem and stops to say goodbye to the leaders of the church in Ephesus, a group he does not expect to see again. He reminds them how he lived among them. He worked with his own hands to support himself and the people traveling with him, and he took nothing that belonged to anyone else, so that his own labor would show them how to care for those too weak to provide for themselves.
He closes by quoting a saying of Jesus, that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Those words appear nowhere in the four Gospels and survive only here, kept alive in the memory of the early church. Paul offers the line as the summary of how he has tried to live, and how he hopes these leaders will carry on after him.
