Job 2:13
Job 2:13. El Versículo del Día, Viernes, 21 de agosto de 2026, con una breve reflexión.
Así se sentaron con él en tierra por siete días y siete noches, y ninguno le hablaba palabra, porque veían que el dolor era muy grande.
Job 2:13
Qué significa este versículo
Job's three friends are so overwhelmed by his suffering that they sit with him on the ground for seven days without saying a word.
Job has just lost his children, his wealth, and his health in a matter of days. Three friends travel from their own lands to comfort him, and when they see how bad things are, words fail them. They sit down beside him on the ground and stay there, silent, for a week.
In the world of the story, sitting with a mourner in silence was itself an act of grief and solidarity. It is the one thing Job's friends get right. Everything they say afterward, trying to explain why this happened to him, only deepens the wound, and by the end of the book God tells them they were wrong to do it. The verse is remembered as a picture of what comfort looks like before anyone speaks.
