Psalm 139:13-14

Psalm 139:13-14.

Psalm 139:13-14

Qué significa este versículo

The psalmist praises God for forming him in the womb, marveling that his own body is the careful, intimate work of a maker who knew him from the start.

Psalm 139 is a long, intimate address to God about being completely known. Just before this line the poet says God knows when he sits down and gets up, and every road he takes. Here he follows that knowledge all the way back to the beginning, to the womb where he was first knit together.

The phrase 'fearfully and wonderfully made' carries the sense of awe. He is put together with such care and skill that looking at himself leaves him astonished. The deeper claim is bigger than biology: a person is known and treasured by God before they have done anything, simply as something God took the care to make.
