What Acts 7:60 means
As he was being stoned to death, Stephen prayed that God would forgive the very people who were killing him.
Stephen was one of the first followers of Jesus, chosen to help care for the widows in the community and later dragged before the authorities for his preaching. A crowd takes him outside the city and begins to stone him.
His last words ask that his killers not be held responsible for his death, echoing the prayer Jesus made from the cross. He dies with no word of revenge, handing the people who hate him over to mercy instead.
